A Website Screenshots Guide
A 5-minute step-by-step guide on how to take website screenshots using Google Chrome.
Image requirements
For submitting your project you will need 2 types of screenshots:
Above the fold screenshot. This image is for a preview card. Must be 1920px width, less than 300Kb. Webp format.
Full-size page screenshot. This image is for a project page. From top to bottom screenshot. Must be 1920px width less, less than 500kB. Webp format.
Taking screenshots
For taking screenshots you can use any tool or browser you want, but these instructions are made for Google Chrome:
Step1. Open your website homepage
Step 2.With the website open, press Cmd + Opt + I (on Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + I (on Windows)This will open a page inspect menu.
Step 3. Next, press Cmd + Shift + P (on Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + P (on Windows). This will open Chrome's developer menu.
Step 4.In the search bar, immediately after Run >, type "screenshot" for your command. Select Capture full size screenshot.
Step 5. Done! You can now find your full-page screenshot in your Downloads folder.
Convert to Webp
The last step before submitting your screenshots is to convert them to Webp, the next-generation image format recommended by Google.
Online converter.You can convert your screenshots using any kind of online tools (like this one).
Software tool.Or you can use specific image editing software, such as Photoshop.
